CrossFit is defined as constantly varied, high-intensity, functional movement. Every exercise we perform in our CrossFit classes translates to real-life and real-world movement. In CrossFit, routine is the enemy. You will use kettlebells, climbing ropes, medicine balls, free weights, weight sleds, your own body weight, and even random objects in CrossFit. All of these tools will be used in different combinations and modes, and the intensity, time duration, and weights will be continually modified from one day to the next.

The classes are high energy, and at Kulak we prefer to keep class sizes at no more than 10-12 people so that you can get personalized, individualized instruction throughout each class. CrossFit also emphasizes and incorporates flexibility and mobility training into every class, as well as instruction and support with proper nutrition. This program is taught by certified and specially trained instructors. We offer separate kids and teen classes with specific crossfit instruction for kids of all abilities and skill levels. Jamie has been involved with CrossFit since 2012, competing at local competitions as well as coaching.  As Manager of Kulak CrossFit, she designs most of the workout programming and is responsible for gym/staff management. Jamie is the head coach of Kulak Barbell, a USAW club and has coached multiple athletes at national competitions. She is a former college track and field athlete with a background in gymnastics as well as many other sports.  Her passion is fitness and health and loves to help others realize their potential and reach their goals.  She has a degree in physical therapy and is the mother of 4 amazing kids.

Troy has been active in CrossFit since 2013.  A former ISU football player, Troy loves anything and everything sports.  He is passionate about CrossFit and its ability to create the strongest, fastest, and fittest individuals for any sport, or for just life in general.  He has extensively coached youth sports and loves to help kids develop themselves through participation in sports and activities.  He owns and operates a HealthCare Management Company and loves to play with his 4 kids.

Brandon has done CrossFit since 2013 and has participated in many local CrossFit Competitions. He is an experienced trainer, having more than four years of coaching under his belt. His passion is Olympic Lifting as well as promoting the benefits of flexibility and mobility to help improve athletic performance and overall health.  Besides CrossFit, he loves to snowboard, eat, do outdoor activities with his wife and their dogs, and be an uncle to his 15 nieces and nephews.  He is also a licensed REALTOR® in the state of Idaho and helped start a supplement company.

Tyler has been coaching CrossFit for almost 4 years. He has excelled in many regional and national CrossFit competitions, including placing 9th in Wodapalooza Individual Rx division in 2016, 7th in 2017, and 14th in the elite division in 2018. He placed 11th place in the CrossFit NorthWest Regionals 2016 competition and 6th in the CrossFit West Regionals competition.  He played Rugby for ISU and SUU and has been skiing, biking, hiking and camping since he could walk. Good books, sunny beaches, and traveling are always high on his to-do list.  He is married and has a son, and is pursuing a degree in exercise physiology.  He loves helping people reach their goals.

Jennifer Fellows

Jennifer Fellows has spent her whole life enjoying anything active. She has always been passionate about staying healthy both physically and emotionally.  Jen has been involved in many different types of fitness and training.  She has trained for and competed in triathlons, marathons, long-distance bike races, and figure competitions to name a few.  In August of 2013, she tried Cross Fit for the first time.  Since then it has captivated her.  She loves how well rounded the workouts are and how they don’t simply focus on cardio or lifting, but a combination of both.  To her, Cross Fit seems to have a perfect recipe for overall fitness.  Jen has never felt better about her fitness level or her body in her entire life.  She obtained her level 1 training certification in April of 2015 and has never looked back.  She loves sharing her knowledge and passion with others with hopes that Cross Fit will change their lives as much as it has changed hers.

Kris has been coaching and involved with CrossFit since 2013. Growing up, Kris was always an athlete. He played college baseball on scholarship for four years and played on a semi-pro baseball team for 3 years. He has a passion for fitness and exemplifying how can CrossFit can better yourself and your lifestyle. He enjoys building unique relationships with each member through trudging through workouts together. Kris is a firefighter and EMT and spends the rest of his time at the gym or outdoors hiking, running, or mountain biking.

Kyle Evans

Certified CrossFit Level 1 Trainer

Kyle has been doing CrossFit for 2 1/2 years and he loves the changes he has seen in himself. He has two hobbies in life CrossFit and slow pitch softball. He loves coaching and interacting with everyone at Kulak. Kyle says he believes the CrossFit community is unlike any other health community out there. His favorite workouts include the gymnastics movements, especially handstand walks. Kyle enjoys watching people progress and grow as they consistently work hard. He loves that whenever someone gets a PR the whole gym is happy for them. Kyle plans on coaching for a long time and sees himself as a forever CrossFitter. It’s changed his life for the better and has made him a happier and healthier person. Kyle had two ACL surgeries and feels that with CrossFit his knee has become the strongest and best it’s ever been. He looks forward to more WODs and helping others achieve their fitness goals.
